The Centre is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in the field of physics. We proactively attract, support, and retain talented individuals from underrepresented groups, with a focus on women and minorities. Our strategies include maintaining strong connections with exceptional candidates across all academic levels, implementing additional steps to combat unconscious bias in selection processes, and instituting supportive policies to promote work-life balance, particularly for those with caregiving responsibilities. We also recognise the importance of senior women in creating a supportive environment for junior women and have established emergency policies to ensure their presence in leadership roles. Through these initiatives, we aim to create a culture where all individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to pursue successful careers in physics, enriching not only our Centre but also contributing to the advancement of science and society as a whole.
